Unique opportunity to acquire the Browns Project and processing facility in Australia's Northern Territory with excellent opportunity to recommence operations with modest capital investment and material exploration upside

Description:

•     Quality tenements in a highly mineralised area

•     Portfolio of 51 tenements in the highly mineralised Rum Jungle Mineral Field

•    Resources sit on granted existing mining leases

•    Existing mining management plan and waste discharge licence

•    Hydrometallurgical plant to process oxide resources from the Browns Oxide Project and satellite deposits

•    The plant has produced 1,500 tonnes of Copper LME Grade A Cathode before being placed on C&M

•    Quality infrastructure already in place, including sealed roads, and high voltage power. It is only 105 kilometres from the Port of Darwin via the Stuart Highway

•    The district has substantial exploration potential for the discovery of additional sulphide and oxide base metal mineralisation

The Receivers and Managers (‘Receivers’) are seeking to sell the assets or recapitalise the Compass Group. The assets consist of the Browns Project mining and exploration tenements and the significant processing facility
 (c. $210 million capital investment).

With a long history of mineral production by various companies, a comprehensive exploration database and a number of key approvals already in place, the project has the potential to move quickly into base metals production.

The Browns Project consists of two distinct opportunities, providing flexibility and a long-term return to potential investors.

Detailed Location:

The Browns Project is located approximately 105 kilometres south of Darwin.

History/Previous Exploration:

Oxide Project

The Browns Oxide deposit sits on approved mining leases. The existing mining approvals, together with well-maintained processing equipment, offer the opportunity to resume open pit mining, and subject to process redesign, production of copper sulphate or copper metal production.

By-products from planned oxide and sulphide processing have the potential to generate highly valuable cobalt and nickel by-products.

Sulphide Project

High quality sulphide resource containing lead, zinc and copper located on granted mining leases. Plans are well advanced to develop the high quality deposit through underground mining with 1–1.2 Mtpa processing, to produce both a lead concentrate and a zinc-lead concentrate. The 10-year+ mine life could be extended by extending the resource or by taking into account additional lead-zinc and copper mineralisation not currently accounted for in the JORC resource.

Mineral Resources & Reserves:

JORC Resource Estimates

The measured, Indicated and Inferred pre-mining mineral resource for the Oxide projects is set out below The Measured, Indicated and Inferred mineral resource for the main lead lode at Browns Sulphide (at 4% lead cut-off) comprised:

Tenure & Commitments:

Regional Geology:

The Browns Project is located within the Pine Creek Orogen, the northernmost domain of the North Australian Craton. The basement geology is dominated by the Neo-Archaean Rum Jungle Complex comprising two inliers (the Rum Jungle and Waterhouse domes) of 2.5Ga  S- and I-type granitoids with minor gneiss, schist and banded ironstone.

Deposit Geology:

Exploration Potential:

Compass’s exploration database represents considerable historical investment, with c. 4,000 holes drilled for more than 300 kilometres completed. The project area has also been subject to aeromagnetic surveys, electromagnetic surveys and gravity surveys. A large number of coherent IP anomalies have been identified for future drill testing.

Plant and Equipment:

Infrastructure

The Browns Project is located in the highly mineralised Rum Jungle mineral field near Batchelor in the Northern Territory. Covering 266 km2, the majority of the project tenements are 100% owned by the Compass Group. The site has high quality infrastructure already in place, including sealed roads and high voltage power. It is only 105 kilometres from the Port of Darwin via the Stuart Highway. The project tenements cover a number of past mining operations, including historically productive sources of uranium, copper and lead-rich ores.
